Fall Colors Photo Contest
It’s that time of year. It’s getting chilly at night, the air is crisp and clear and the leaves are starting to change. And not just aspen, but cottonwood, grasses, brushes and the Colorado sky turns that signature saturated blue in the day. There is color and contrast abundant in the high country and on your block. It’s a great time to get outdoors and take photographs. Share that passion with us!
Mike’s Camera and Working with Artists School of Photography are proud to present the 1st annual Colorado Fall Colors Photo Contest! This contest will culminate in a juried show hung at FLASH Gallery at Belmar, with prizes for winners and runner-ups.
Grand Prize
One winner will receive a Sony A330 DSLR Kit courtesy of Mike’s Camera
Honorable Mention
10- Additional winners will receive a FREE 12”x18” print.
We encourage anyone with a camera who has taken a fall 2009 color picture to enter.
How the Contest Works

Selections will be reviewed by Executive Director of Working with Artists, Greg Cradick and David Lindquist, Photo Lab Manager at Mike’s Camera.

Mike’s Camera will print, up to a 12x18 print (depending on the aspect ratio correct for each submission) of each selection and deliver the prints to FLASH Gallery.

FLASH Gallery will host an opening night extravaganza on Friday, November 20th, 6-9p. We encourage everyone who entered to attend and see this wonderful display of color that night!

The show selections will be juried with a grand prize and runner-ups awarded that night.

A post show critique will follow a week later. Again, anyone who entered is encouraged to attend. You will take away valuable insights on how to make better photographs.
Entry Qualifications & Requirements
Photos will be selected Monday, November 2nd.
All images remain property of the photographer, but by entering the contest, you authorize Mike's Camera to print and display your image(s) for exhibit and promotional use of the contest in future years.
Mike’s Camera and Working with Artists employees are not eligible to win.
Deadline for entries is Monday, October 26th, and all submissions must be uploaded to the Mike's Camera Fan page by that date.
Selected contestants agree to provide Mike's Camera the original image file which will be used for printing for the exhibit.
The contest is free to enter.
Each contestant may enter up to 5 images.

Images must be an original digital file; minimum files size must be 14MB, color image, depicting autumn in Colorado, and shot in 2009.
Entries must be the property of the photographer submitting the image.
The reception will be Friday evening, November 20th at FLASH Gallery

Photo guidelines
We are looking for photos that express the unique place, person or things found at one of Colorado's favorite summer traditions, the 2009 Colorado Renaissance Festival. Submissions should reflect and capture the fun, excitement and atmosphere of The Colorado Renaissance Festival.
All photos must have name and address, type of camera and name of shot.
Entry Print Format Photos for entries must be at least 5x7 size color prints. Prints must be true photographic quality. To order your discounted prints online from our OnlinePhotoCenter, you can simply upload and order your print(s) and receive 40% off your entire order, simply enter coupon code CRFJP09. Color copies or photos on home printers are not accepted.
Each entry must have a completed 3x5 entry card with name, address and phone number of the photographer securely attached on the back of the photo. Do not staple. You can also download an entry form to include with your entry.
No files, discs or print copies will be returned.
Deadline for entries is August 9, 2009

Publication
Winning entries will be displayed at mikescamera.com and may also be exhibited in Mike's Camera stores. Photographers who submit entries to the 2009 Colorado Renaissance Festival authorize the Festival and Mike's Camera, Inc. and its affiliate's limited rights for use of the submissions for print and web. Photographers retain ownership rights of submissions.
